The Past
The Unshaven is one of the world's oldest and most resilient organisations. Our ancient motto remains unchanged since 352BC, 'Growth Be Our Oath'.

Most scholars believe the Unshaven was first formed in ancient Greece in the year 352 BC. This date is gleaned from a series of recently discovered documents which archaeologists agree are weekly meeting notes and agendas.

Initially a group of philosophers dedicated to all things organic, the original name of the collective was Crinitus which is Latin for long hair.

The group survived many turbulent and often violent eras but also experienced times of immense social favour. During the Roman Empire Crinitus was at its height; Julius Caesar himself once consulted the collective regarding acceptable styles for his men and his nephew Octavian (seen in the photgraph above) once held the posting of Grand Beard.

In modern times the organisation has suffered the blows of technology and fleeting fashion trends. In an age where men everywhere are encouraged to be clean shaven or worse still, 'style shaven', we face perhaps our biggest battle yet.

With centuries of tradition and a dedicated international community numbering in the thousands we continue our quest. In the name of our forefathers, Growth Be Our Oath has never been felt more passionately.
