Tuesday, March 10, 2009
The NRL Footy Show's Andrew Voss sets us straight on the year ahead

WHO’LL slam who in the grand final this year?
Brisbane to defeat Melbourne, I reckon.

What will the top eight be at the end of regular season?
Melbourne, Brisbane, Manly, North Queensland, Roosters, Warriors, Canberra and the Gold Coast.

Who’ll get the wooden spoon?
Sorry, Panthers fans.

Which player will score most points?
Jonathan Thurston.

Biggest on-field troublemaker?
In the fans eyes, it’ll be the referees.

Most improved team?
The Cowboys are set to bounce back into form this season, and straight into finals footy.

Bolter for the Kangaroos?
Michael Ennis will probably get a run somewhere.

Prediction for rookie of the year?
He’s not long moved out of the rookie class, but expect Lagi Setu to have a blinder with the Broncos.

Who’ll win the Dally M?
Billy Slater.

Which player will be the main squirrel-grip culprit?
Haven’t you heard? Grapple tackles have been banned.

Who’ll be the toughest player?
Preston Campbell. A very small man with a very big heart and a heap of talent.

Player most likely to start a biff?
I don’t think Carl Webb needs to be asked twice.

Player most likely to be on the receiving end?
Anyone who bags Carl’s haircut.

Who’d you like to see sing the national anthem at the grand final?
Aside from Carl Webb?

vossey's a brave man if he thinks a Wayne Bennet coached side won't be in the top eight
