A World of Hurt

Monday, May 19, 2008
Ben McKelvey faces crazed fans and men the size of cars at WrestleMania XXIV.

The first time you cop a punch in the head it’s a shock. That was my reaction to meeting Paul “Big Show” Wight face to face.
I’d seen the guy on the telly, knew the stats – 2.18m tall, 220kg-plus but when he walked into the room I let out a girlie shriek. He’s f king huge. I stare, then realise it must be rude. I try to look away only to find I’m still staring at some other part of him.
He lumbers over to me, introduces himself and wraps the 5kg steak he calls a paw around my hand. “How’s it going?” he booms. “Not bad,” I squeak, feeling like Frodo Baggins.

i cannot understand how anyone can rate wrestling highly. sure it is entertaining, however in the end it is all fake. For anyone who enjoys wrestling i suggest going out and renting a UFC dvd and see some real full contact action.
