Tape up as we tackle the NRL season.
Darren Lockyer
The Broncos star sets the pace for his new backline.
You've lost some big names. Can the Broncos still be a force in 2010?
We're feeling good about our chances. We've got a lot of young kids coming through so it'll be a bit of a test. But if we can keep the same team on the park each week we'll be competitive.
Are you concerned with the power of the backline now Karmichael Hunt’s moved on and Justin Hodges is injured?
There's a lot of talent vying for the fullback, centre and wing spots. Israel Folau is still there and whoever gets those other spots will all have good speed, too. That’s what you want.
Israel was on the wing last season. Where will he likely line up this year?
He'll move to right centre to replace Justin [Hodges] I'd think. He likes it on the right and he's going to get a bit more footy in the centres. He looks good at training - the fittest I've seen him.
The big names to watch this year
Sam Burgess
South Sydney
At just 21, this Pommy prop's being hailed the best import since Jack Daniel’s. On a losing team, he still hammer the Aussies in the Four Nations last year.
Daine Laurie
Penrith Panthers
With a new club, new attitude and bulked-up frame, expect this dreadlocked monster, known as The Predator, to tear opponents limb from limb.
Jarryd Hayne
Parramatta Eels
The more press this guy gets, the better he gets. He inspired the Eels' run to last year’s GF with his blistering speed and footwork and, word is, the fire’s still burning.
