Chris Brown in Twitter war with CM Punk

11:00 AEST Thu Feb 23 2012

February 23, 2012

Leeeeet's get ready to rummmble! The collective prayers of the entire planet have been answered with someone kindly offering to make mincemeat of musician prancing show-pony and convicted woman-beater, Chris Brown. That 'someone' in question? WWE wrestling star CM Punk!

CM Punk released the above video challenging the Grammy-winning star after the pair traded several blows via Twitter.

CM Punk kicked the whole thing off when he Tweeted this at Brown:

That last call didn't go down too well with the seven-time wrestling world champion – prompting CM Punk to deliver the following message via video:

I never meant to include Chris Brown's name in one of my tweets for publicity. Now that he's accusing me of using steroids please allow me to retort.

I'm a life-long, proud, drug-free straight-edge individual. So Chris and I come from two completely different worlds. I don't have a manager, bodyguard, assistant, or a PR team to tell me when to Tweet or to delete Tweets. And I don't hit women. Period.

In my world women are meant to be revered and respected, and I firmly believe that in this life there are consequences and repercussions for people's actions and I think Chris Brown hasn't paid for what he's done. Picking up trash on the side of a highway does not make amends for repeatedly striking a woman to her face and sending her to a hospital.

So, Chris wants to throw stones my way now and I say that's fine, but I say put some gloves on in the ring and I will choke you out and make you feel as weak and as powerless and scared and alone as any woman has had the misfortune of knowing any sad cowardly little boy as yourself. And all proceeds can go to a woman's charity of my choosing.

Chris Brown responded with this Twitter rant:

No word yet as to whether Brown's family have begun funeral arrangements.

Your say: Can Brown improve his image by fighting CM Punk for women's charity?

It happened in 2009. It is now 2012. And CM Punk is only coming out now to defend Rihanna's honour? Violence against women is detestable (or arguably anyone for that matter), but it just seems a little strange that he is only reacting now.
all you squares backing up that blind *** chris brown are blind themselves he makes shitmusic and has an ego as big as america he deserves to get rommpped up for his actions le alone the really really bad music he sings
I hope CM Punk smacks him good. Rihana may have forgiven him, but that is not the point. Men (if you could call them that) that do that to women need to made an example of. This will in some way help deter others from behaving as badly. Celebrities have a long history of being dealt with lightly because of thier social status, in this case he should have the book thrown at him, twice. This is some thing I would pay to see...
First of all, everyone makes mistakes.. no one's perfect! Who knows the full story behind chris & rhianna before he hit her, not saying she deserved it or anyone else for that matter but you'll find there is always more to the story. I'm totally against what Chris did but if he has learnt from it then we should forgive & move forwards. I can guarantee majority of people in this world make stupid choices & it doesn't help when under the influence of drugs or alcohol. All I'm saying is there other factors to always consider in events like these, it's so easy to point the fingers when someone slips up but how about looking in the mirror and I'm sure your not perfect too. Obviously Chris had a lot of growing up to do and maybe more so but CM Punk judging someone for one mistake they made in the past says a lot about his character as well. Goodluck to both of them..
I say GO FOR IT!! And while your at it guys, make it into a "anyone who wins gives the proceeds to a woman's Charity match" Loser gets to apologise on live tv to the winner. Pay per view event. Boo-Ya!
I think that it would be funny seeing Chris Brown going against CM Punk. I would love to see that and I say good on you CM Punk for saying your mind about Chris Brown and I think he should get punished for it.
CM Punk what are you ... 12??? Chris made a mistake and as you have clearly seen that the individual has forgiven chris and like a GROWNUP has moved on... why dwell in the past are you that desperate for ratings or something that u feel u need to bring a talented and still well respected artist into things for a bit of TV and net time?? maybe if YOU had a publicist they would advise better ways for u to get ur head in the spot light rather than pick on something thats almost as old as u are starting to look!
CM Punk need to get over it, who the hell does he think he is to judge anyone. Chris Brown did wrong and punished for it. Whilst pointing finger at others always remember four are pointing at you. Moreover Chris Brown song are awesome and he is talented anyone can be a wrestlers with training and hard work but only few can learn how to sing and be successful at it. Love you Chris Brown....peace
whats Dave from Melbourne said!! completely agree!
CB never paid for what he did, if Rhianna has forgiven him, that is because she has been told to move on. No woman fully recovers from being abused, it stays with her for life. I hope CB rots in hell and I am not much of a wrestling fan but cudos to CM Punk for his video content. Respect to women has gone out of the window big time these days. CB is nothing but a cocky prancing pony following the suit of every other teeny bopper person. I mean how many 'rappers' do we have now??? All sound the same to me!
chris brown is a pretentious ***. unlike CM punk, who has intelligencem you cant understand chris's idiotic ramblings. i hope he gets curb stomped by CM because he is worthless
Don't get me wrong, I can't stand Chris Brown. But enough of this woman beating stuff. I find it deplorable what he did. But it is in the past. And besides anything else, if Rihanna can forgive him, people like CM "drug-free straight-edge individual" Punk and Miranda Lambert need to chill. Coming out with this crap so long after the fact is just desperate headline grabbing.
CM Punk wins this one hands down, Chris Brown is a woman basher and he didn't get punished for it.
I am a huge fan of CM Punk, i have been so, his entire career. I agree with everything he has said to and about Chris Brown. Chris Brown thinks he's being clever with his retorts to CM Punk but he's not. CM Punk has given his body, his blood, his sweat and tears for the entertainment of his fans. He deserves the title of 'Best in the World.' Because that is what he is. Chris Brown has put out annoying songs that you can't escape and would gladly rip off your own ears just so you can't hear it any more. I for one hope CM Punk does go through with his threat and i sincerely hope that WWE have no holds barred, CZW type of a match so Chris Brown can know the pain he inflicted on Rihanna, even if she is still rooting him. To use a quote from Brett Hart about CM Punk - CM Punk is the best there was, the best there is and the best there ever will be.
