Mini-Me robots invented in Japan

• Mini-Mes talk exactly like the person
• Costs $3317 and six months to make

First it was wacky game shows, sex hotels and bizarre gadgets. Now the Japanese are looking to corner the market in tailor-made Mini-Me robots.

Just like the little fella from Austin Powers, a robotics company in Tokyo claim they can create a tiny person of anyone - even copying the sound of their voice.

For $3317, customers can order a robot after submitting a pic of themself. Six months later their Mini-Me will rock up on the doorstep.

The dolls talk like the customer, via an in-built microphone, computer, webcam and voice recognition software.

Hopefully the things will stick to fetching beers and not bother with talking over the world, Terminator-style.

Pity they can't invent a cure for pollution -- may be their not as crash-hot as they like to think they are?

It would be good for business I guess as a robot that would stand at the door and great customers or to really freak you friends out with, but I wouldn't bother with the price, I could buy myself so much more with this type of money. So does it walk or does it just sit there? And you also said TALK the world over, I think you meant TAKE the world over terminator style. Don't think we have anything to worry about there, they are tiny little things that could probably be crushed by a toddler. Hey I'm a girl so of course I'm going to be correcting spelling mistakes.
