According to an
Australian Top Gear magazine survey, only 15 per cent of Aussie blokes
feel comfortable when their missus is driving.
Lizz from Innisfail says, “One night I told my boyfriend if he didn’t stop bitching he could walk home. I kicked him out and let him walk two hours home."
Meanwhile, Damien from Melbourne says, “According to insurance companies men have more accidents because they drive further, drive more often at night and commute much more often in adverse weather conditions. Per kilometre driven, men actually have fewer accidents than women. If insurance was billed per kilometre driven, I suspect women's premiums would be substantially higher.”
According to an AAMI survey consisting of 2384 drivers, nationally more men than women have experienced a crash – 84 per cent versus 77 per cent.
“Our claims data shows that men’s crashes tend to be more serious than women’s – they are more likely to be involved in head-on collisions, roll-overs and loss-of-control crashes, as well as crashes involving pedestrians, cyclists and animals. Conversely, women are more likely to collide with stationary objects or reverse into other cars,” says AAMI Spokesman Geoff Hughes.
A host of female
RALPH.com readers claimed men speed too much and think 80km in a 50 zone makes them a “hero”.
In addition, men are more likely to become distracted by outdoor advertising/billboards when driving: half of men compared to 40 per cent of women.
Thommo from Canberra confirms he gets distracted by
boobs on the road and can’t stop looking at them, which is pretty understandable.
