A Pommie man was so hungry for his takeaway that he smashed his prized Mercedes into a curry house.

Instead of braking, the driver accidently accelerated and slammed his car into the front entrance of Raj Bari takeaway in Cleveland, north-east Pomgolia.

As reported in the UK's The Sun, waiter Surinder Singh said: "The man was handed his meal and went back to his car. He turned on the engine and then it came through the window with such power."

Diners suffered cuts and bruises and the driver walked away still hungry.

Maybe next time the hungry hippo should dial a pizza.
