Face-eating tumour man refuses surgery

Friday, January 11, 2008
A Portuguese man with a humongous growth that covers his entire face is refusing to have surgery due to his religious beliefs.

Jose Mestre, a Jehovah's Witness, is refusing to have a blood transfusion to correct his distorted face, which looks worse than Kyle Sandilands belly.

The 51-year-old has a collection of blood vessels that have expanded into a collection of strawberry coloured growths, which weighs 3kg and is 33cm long.

Mestre was born with a birthmark on his upper lip and at puberty it began growing, eventually smothering his lips, nose and one of his eyes.

According to doctors it's still growing and, for the sake of perhaps enjoying some lady love, RALPH hopes Jose comes to his senses.

Should Jose go under the knife? Leave your comment below.

Ok, WHAT THE ... WHY is it against his religion to remove what could actually be a second head? what religion addresses the issue of second heads in its holy pages? What other weird and bizarre issues does this religion address? apparently GOD has a plan for Mr Giant Faceman and he's not going to mess with the big guy upstairs. It is clearly a long drawn out and entirely vague plan, but stick with it Mr Giant Faceman, i'm sure that whatever the big guy has planned will off set the years of pain, torture and humiliation that he so happily laid out for you so far. Good Decision!
Confuscious say.. "Beauty may only be skin deep but STUPID goes to the bone"
One of the most undeniable rights we have is the right to choose our own destiny. Whilst I don't support beliefs which allow people to needlessly die, it is our right to choose our health options, as many people do every day. Many people will argue that Jose should have this surgery, but we have to ask, is it because of his benefit or their being uncomfortable at his visual appearance.
Hypothetically speaking lets say GOD exits, would he himself want his view of the world obstructed by this fugitive, abominable cluster or would he want to see in it in a clear, unblemished perspective?
I find it really sad....he may be wrong but at least he believes SOMETHING..right or wrong...it's also sad so many people don't understand God...we were given free wills and the freedom to choose...so don't knock what you don't understand. One other thing is clearly obvious..few people know how to spell correctly..leave the little guy alone,he has made his choice......
Eeeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuwwwwwww! For the love of that fantasy character, get those removed so that normal people like my exceptional self dont have to look at you!
How frustrating these people are (JW's). However, there is on the market, synthetic blood products that can be used in place, however, very costly. Maybe the JW's could fund this? They are a terrible "religion", far from christian too. It's a wonder they have not told him he caused the tumours himself through some wicked misdeed. It's a wonder they have not "dis-fellowshipped" him either. JW's, get a "New System", one that does not rely solely on destruction. How angry you all make me!!!!
Surgery would be good. It'd be nice for him to be able to eat and hopefully see properly.
thats true if he likes who he is then who are we to judge? this man does not affect our daily lives on what he looks like. On the other hand he could have a more fullfilling life if he did have the surgery. Do what you think is right.....None of us should be the judge....
Not a good look?
