Body lotion thief can’t give cops the slip

Wednesday, February 10, 2010
A Yank in Springfield, Massachusetts, was charged with theft after cops caught him with 75 bottles of body lotion jammed down his pants.

A checkout worker at Bath & Body Works saw Chamil Guadarrama, aged 30, slipping the bottles of lotion through the open zip in his trousers. When he was challenged Guadarrama tried to scarper, with the 20 litres of lotion still in his daks.

Guadarrama didn't get far. Local policeman Sgt John Delaney said the thief had a hard time running and was bow-legged thanks to the bottles. "They could not fit Mr Guadarrama into the cruiser because his pants were bursting at the seams and he could not bend over," he said.

The cop-cum-comedian said that Guadarrama's legs were "extremely chafed" when he was taken into custody following his run and that, "He needed the use of some of the stolen items."
