Oz hip-hop trendsetters Thundamentals reckon sunnies with windscreen wipers are the fashion for summer.
Who's the most fashionable bloke in your crew?
Morgs [DJ]: Me.
Tuka [MC]: Me.
Jeswon [MC]: We keep it pretty casual. We’re not fans of that high-brow fashion crap.
What do you reckon chicks look for in a dude, fashion-wise?
Jeswon: Most girls in Sydney go for heaps girlie-looking dudes. Big
sunglasses, stripy T-shirts, stylish haircuts and handsome.
Morgs: We don't get girls like that.
Jeswon: Cool chicks go for guys in hoodies and baggy jeans. I’m
not dressing to pick up chicks. I know chicks already. But if chicks are more concerned with how much moisturiser a guy puts on his face, then whatever.
Tuka: The girls we hang with aren’t that vain. They’re all about how we represent ourselves.
Do you have a fashion prediction
for this summer?
Tuka: Hoodies, baggy jeans and Air Jordans. And XXXL white tees.
Jeswon: You know those weird Kanye West sunnies with the Venetian blinds? Or maybe ones with windscreen wipers, to wipe away all the emo tears.
Is there a word that needs to
re-enter everyday language?
Morgs: We used to say “kang”.
It’s kind of like when you’re hungover or maggot – then
you’re feeling kang.
