French made

Serving size: Serves 4
Cuisine type: American, French
Cooking time: Less than 15 minutes
Favourite flavours: Saucy

INGREDIENTS

3 eggs, beaten lightly
1/3 cup (80ml) cream
1/3 cup (80ml) milk
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 tablespoon caster sugar
1 long french bread stick, cut into
12 x 2cm slices
50g butter
METHOD

1. Combine egg, cream, milk, cinnamon and sugar in large bowl. Dip bread slices into egg mixture.

2. Melt half of the butter in large frying pan; cook half of the bread slices until browned both sides. Repeat with remaining butter and bread. Serve sprinkled with extra sugar. It's like having dessert for breakfast.

The bi-lateral breakfast
Just like the fries, french toast is a Froggy idea that's more popular amongst ravenous American appetites than it ever has been in France. And its popularity reaches all the way to the top. It's a favourite breakfast in the White House, but when the pesky French refused to support the war in Iraq, it became known as 'freedom toast'.

All shook up
Here's a more morning-friendly use for a cocktail shaker. Bung in a bit of instant coffee, a dash of vanilla, some sugar, ice cubes and plenty of milk. Give it a shake for a great iced coffee.
