Tired of restricting your beer intake to drinking it out of a schooner glass or can?
RALPH has discovered you can make bread out of it. Just don't bake and drive.
Ingredients
3 cups of self-raising flour
1 tablespoon of sugar
1 can of the best Aussie beer (do as the Pommies do and keep it at room temperature)
1 egg (to be beaten with 1 tablespoon of water)
Cheddar cheese
Method
1. Combine flour, sugar, and a little shredded cheese. Pour in the full can of beer (don't cry, it's warm) and stir just until the dry ingredients are moist.
2. Pour the beer batter into a greased and floured loaf pan and let it sit for about 15 minutes (about the time it takes to drink a second can of beer) for it to rise.
3. The dough should be as gooey as a Julia Roberts rom-com. Brush the top with the egg mixture and bake in a pre-heated at 190°C for about an hour (that's another couple of beers).
4. Pull it out and brush top with butter.
5. Sober up and eat it.
