World’s Strongest Beer

Monday, March 1, 2010
A Scottish brewery has reclaimed the title of the world’s strongest beer with their new bottle containing 41% alcohol.

Unfortunately the 330ml Sink the Bismark beer costs $60 and is only available online through the BrewDog brewery.

The Scottish brewski made international headlines last year when it unveiled a 32% beer called Tactical Nuclear Penguin, but a German rival hit back with a 40% strength named Schorschbock.

BrewDog bit back with the 41% Sink the Bismarck, which is ironically the title of a flick that recounts the true story of the Royal Navy's attempts to find and sink the famous German battleship during the WWII.

Officially, the Guinness Book of World Records states the world’s strongest beer as Samuel Adams from Boston having 25.0% alcohol by volume and is 50 proof beer.

It might be time for the BrewDog to drop off a case to the editors at the Guinness Book of World Records, so they can update their records. Saxon Cheng

Strongest beers that i drink regularly are Red Horse & Colt 45 both brewed in the Philippines at about 10.5-12. % cost is about 65c for a stubbie
I have had the Tactical Nuclear Penquin. They only made 500 bottles. Very hard to drink. Needs to be sipped like whisky. The way they make it is brew it as a normal, albeit stronger beer, then they put it in an Ice Cream store room. Every day for a month or two they scrape the ice (water) off the top. Then they barrel it for a few more months.
the strongest beer that i have drunk was "old thumper" in havent hampshire england
I didn't think you could get beer that strong. Sounds like beer with a whisky chaser with the whisky chaser just thrown into the beer to save on the effort of drinking twice (not a bad idea actually). Strongest beer I've ever had would either be Tennent's Super or Grand Ridge Supershine (awesome Aussie beer) but at only 11% each they quake in fear in the presence of Sink the Bismarck or Tactical Nuclear Penguin (*** is with the name??!). Can't believe the *** only sell online.
strongest beer I have ever drunk was a german brew called 'santaclausen' that my boss at the time (a publican in essex, uk) gave me. It was red in colour and came in a green bottle. I think it was a special brew released for xmas.
The strongest beer I have tried has been "Winter Warmer" which was brewed especially for Tasmania by Cascade back in the '80's. It was a heavy malt beer and very nice. Wish they would bring it back. I owned a hotel at the time and it was our most popular brew, the first sample barrel sold out inside of 3hrs.
