How to bag a WAG

Rugby League’s Dally M Awards have just passed, and while Jarryd Hayne was stoked to receive the Dally M Medal, most blokes were just excited to have a chance to perv on the footballers wives and girlfriends, or “WAGs.”

It wasn’t long ago footy players’ partners were an unknown quantity, then Posh Spice shacked up with David Beckham, and everyone wanted to know how other players were going in the pulling department.

Now you won’t see a sporting awards night without a red carpet and dozens of photographers. I wonder what it’s like for the players on their night of nights, when people are more interested in Rebecca Twigley’s tits or Lara Bingle’s bum than their achievements.

Some guys have trouble getting their head around the fact footy players, whose own heads look like they’ve been used as battering rams, manage to pull Australia’s greatest glamours.

If you’re one of those guys complaining it’s unfair that blokes you think are boofheads get the hotties, there are a few things to consider. Firstly, just because a guy plays professional sport doesn’t mean he’s a moron. Secondly, there are a couple of things you could learn from those “boofheads.”

Women always say they like intelligence and a sense of humour, but we also like a guy who’s got a hot physique. And we like guys who are successful, whether it’s on the sporting field, or in their career. It shows a competitive drive that’s a turn on.

If your current ambitions include learning to carry four beers back from the bar, or your idea of a good use of spare time is watching the entire series of Star Wars flicks back to back, the fact you aren’t an athlete isn’t why you can’t get a hot girlfriend.

That said, even if you do snag the kind of hottie you see on red carpets, you might wonder why you wanted a girlfriend more interested in fashion and camera flashes, rather than having an interesting life of her own. But that's another blog.
