How was the whole Miss Universe experience?
Amazing. I got to hang out with girls from all around the world and be a girly girl. We got given heaps of clothes and presents, and were taken all around Vietnam [where the competition was held]. I miss the girls, but Miss New Zealand’s [Samantha Powell] coming to see me soon. I’ll show her around Sydney during the day and we’ll probably hit the clubs at night.

Did you meet Hawko prior to the comp?
She was judging, so I saw her at the judging table but I haven’t met her yet. She seems really nice and I can’t wait to meet her. She’s done really well and looks like she knows what she’s doing.

Do you reckon she didn’t want another Miss Australia to win?
Ooh, possibly. You never know. All the girls were stressing that Jennifer Hawkins was there because they thought she was going to make me win. The other side is, maybe that means I’m going to lose.

What are the perks of being Miss Australia?
Going to beautiful places, staying in nice hotels, eating great food and, on top of that, getting sent clothes. In the last few days I’ve been sent invites to nightclubs with drink passes. Sometimes when I’m out, people will buy me a drink to congratulate me.
