You’ve performed with Barnsey and Kasey Chambers, you’re only 22 and you look hot. Why aren’t you in the Top 40 yet?
I’d been signed [to a deal] for a while but then I moved from Queensland to Melbourne when I was 18 because it didn’t turn out the way I hoped. I was angry at the time but I look back on it now and think it was for the best. I’m hungrier and more determined now.

What’s your music like?
It’s sort of a rock-pop vibe, a bit edgy and something Australia hasn’t heard before.

Would Mark Holden give you a touchdown?
Hopefully. He’d probably do all that goo-ga gubble talk he does. The words that come out of his mouth just don’t make any sense. He talks a lot of shit, doesn’t he?

And then some. We hear you’re singing the national anthem at Indy this year. True?
Yes! I can’t wait. I’m counting down the days.

What will you do if an Indy driver tries to crack onto you? Aren’t they all really short? I heard most of them are like four-feet tall. I Iike my men to be big and masculine but you never know, one of them might blow my socks off.

Any hiccups at your RALPH shoot?
It was the coolest thing I’d ever done. I felt so hot, like a little sex goddess. It was at a club and there was one guy who let us in and by the end of the shoot there were about 15 guys there. We were doing a few different shots and they all kept trying to come in and pretend they were looking for things.

Are you normally comfortable stripping off?
Not really, but I’ve got a great group of girlfriends and some of them are still living with their parents, so they all come over to my place and sometimes they say to me, “Channey, can you put on some clothes?”

Hang on a sec. You hang out in the nude at your place with your girlfriends?
Yeah, if it’s a good day, I’ll just walk around in nothing. I’m really comfortable around people like my girlfriends and family. It’s really cool, too, because some of my girlfriends are TV presenters and models, and we just sit around naked watching TV. We all trust and support one another and that’s why we’re so comfortable.

Strip poker at your place next Saturday then?
No, we don’t play poker. More stuff like… last night my best friend and I were giving each other a spray tan and we were laughing saying we’d have to tell RALPH all about this tomorrow.

Go on then.
Well, she’s got a hot date tonight and she was feeling a bit white and pasty. I’ve got this tanning stuff so she came over and asked if I could put it on her. She hops in my shower and I spray it on her. It’s not that exciting.

[Wipes drool from chin] No, not at all.
[Laughs] She’s a hottie, too.

We believe you. Are you single?
I am and I love it. Unless someone comes along and blows my socks off, I think I’ll be single for quite some time.

Which famous girl would you do?
Carmen Electra is awesome. She’s got real sex appeal and she’s so cute. I’d have a crack at her, but she’s the only one I’d swap teams for.

What song turns you on?
Well, my friend Georgia and I were at her place the other day and Justin Timberlake’s “Sexy Back” came on. Goodness, that got us both moving.

And then you kissed?
No, we didn’t but that’s all the rage these days. Every time I’m out at a club I see all these slappers getting it on. If it tickles your fancy go for it, but it’s not my cup if tea… unless Carmen Electra paid me a visit.

When was the last time you were as drunk as Mel Gibson?
When I was 17 and still living in Toowoomba, I came down for the Logies. I’d never seen a celebrity before so I was in awe. At the after-party I had a few drinks with Craig McLachlan and he tried to crack onto me! I went into the toilet and drunk dialled my dad at 3am telling him that Craig McLachlan was hitting on me.

What would you do if you woke up tomorrow morning and discovered you were a bloke?
Go to my gym, go into the men’s change rooms to watch all the hot guys getting changed. But I’d have to be careful – they might think I was gay.

Do you perve at chicks at the gym?
I do actually. This sounds a bit odd but I check out more chicks than guys. I like looking at other chicks’ bums and appreciate a good arse. The gym is a big perv-fest for me.

When can we expect to see your album?
Next year. It’s all happening soon and I can’t wait! There’s plenty of material already recorded and I’m really excited.
